I have been following The Great Discontent blog for some time. They have beautiful photos and insightful interviews. When they announced their #The100DayProject, I didn't pay much attention as I have already been doing my own draw everyday project and some other art prompts with my friends on Facebook. To add more daily things would be too much. Then one of my friends talked about this and somehow I woke up this morning thinking about the project and just wanted to join.
At first, I thought about combining the project with my own draw everyday which already has some 100 days to go to complete a year. But it may not be challenging enough. I need something new and fresh, makes me excited. It should be something that helps improve my skill but not too stressful and takes only a few minutes so that I can keep doing it on a daily basis. I thought about what I lack and need to improve. Drawing animals came to my mind. I have always struggled with drawing animals but never commit myself to work on it. This project could be a great start.
The project officially starts on April 6 and will end on July 14, 2015. Today is the first day. I already drew my cover page above. Notice it's in black and white as I don't want to stress myself too much with colors. Sketching in pencil should be the most comfortable way :)
Thanks for reading. I'm also working on my merry newsletter. Sign up with the form below if you are interested :) Have a merry day!
